Solana Beach Amtrak Station

This station is served by both Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Coaster. All trains stop here.

The station was designed by architect Rob Wellington Quigley, and was built in 1994 to replace the depot in Del Mar, California.

In the late 1990s, work was started to lower the tracks and station platforms. This allowed for another track and platform and improved safety by eliminating the railroad crossing located south of the station.

Of the 73 California stations served by Amtrak, Solana Beach was the tenth-busiest in FY2010, boarding or detraining an average of approximately 1100 passengers daily.

Belly Up - Live Music in San Diego

The internationally acclaimed Belly Up Tavern located in Solana Beach, has a long history of bringing great live music to the San Diego area. Pacific Coast Grill

Jalapeno sliders which were also awesome. Overall great ambiance, we sat on the patio as we had our our dog Mo with us. They also have a "delectable doggie delights" menu but Mo didn't get to try it. Was a perfect family outing: Del Mar dog beach then lunch at PCG as it is walking distance. Sad to see on their website that they are now moving to Cardiff.

Fidel's Little Mexico

Fidel's Little Mexico has been a San Diego landmark since the early '60s when owner Fidel Montanez came up with the idea to serve tacos at his busy barber shop. The shop was located in the heart of Eden Gardens, a small neighborhood in Solana Beach that was home to a number of Mexican families. The tacos sold like hotcakes, and before long, the place evolved into a neighborhood cantina. The business thrived and expanded as Fidel converted his two-story residence into three different levels, including a festive courtyard, a couple of bars and outdoor patios, and a taco bar. Today, Fidel's ranks among the top restaurants in San Diego County.

Solana Beach Fish Market

Located across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, our third restaurant has been a San Diego North County favorite since it opened in 1981.
